i did the 408 carbed convert some years ago. i bought an item like this and it has worked flawlessly. BUT i am pretty sure you could just get a pick up from an older stang, or make your own. all you need is a tube to point at the rear of the tank, and a round cap that will seal the top of the tank. and save some money.

as for "return or no return" that is up to you. i started with a return, but due to issues (turns out it was my new mallory fuel pump) i ended up running without a return and i have never had an issue. not in FL or TX heat. no vapor lock ups, no worn out AFPR etc... this is in about 15,000 miles.

good luck

Post carb regulator, flow through fuel bowls and return to tank fuel system. It will prevent carb heat soak, it will also eliminate fuel pump heat soak. Electric pumps, dead head-able or not use the cycling fuel to cool the electric motor. The more consistent the volume of fuel through the pump, the cooler they run, the longer they live.
