Looking to up my 28 spline to a 31. Been looking at Strange axles and an Auburn Pro Series LSD. Any other suggestions? I want to make sure the car is still plenty streetable since it is my DD but also good for 1/4 use.

I've had horrible luck with the Auburn differentials at the track. I've had 2 of them and both busted during launch. The casting seems to be pretty cheap and both broke pretty much in the same place. I run a 33 spline Wavetrac differential and Mark Williams axles personally, they'll take pretty much anything I can throw at them.

I run 31-spline Strange and a Detroit Locker. I love the combo, and its my DD.

If you want to stay limited slip, the Eaton seems to be the way to go... but for the money i like the FRPP T-lok's

A 33 spline would be a bit overkill. My Mach 1 is pretty close to stock besides intake, exhaust, gears and shocks/struts so I want to get 31 spline to be capable of launching high on DR's. That being said, I am not a die hard drag racer. I won't be attending every event. Basically a TnT once/twice a month. That being said, would a FRPP LSD work well? It is half the price of the Eaton, Auburn, etc.

Is your Detroit Locker as noisy as I have heard?

The 31-spline T-lok would work great. Tons of Cobra's makes great power and they hold up fine.
Thats what i used before i went to the locker, and i really only swapped because i got it local for cheap. Guy bought it for a 3V turbo car, then before instal he hurt the car so he needed money to have motor built again.

But no, its not near as noisy as people make it out to be. 98% of the time i cant tell the difference. Itll clunk every so often (read: rarely), usually around a tight, slow (idle) speed or when going from first to reverse or vice versa.
It hammers both tires hard when i ask it to though.

I was thinking Torsen t2r 31 spline with some mark Williams axles for my next project...?
More of a street / road track driver than street/drag.

Curious how that will hold though for the occasional 1/4 mile trip.

Is the Easton posi the best for like street/drag use?

Here's what my buddies 31 spline Auburn Pro looked like after a trip to Zmax dragway earlier this month...

I personally run a Detroit Locker and 31 spline Mosers in my 90 coupe and a 31 spline trac-lok with the carbon fiber clutchs and 31 spline Alloy USA axles in my 89 vert.

For a true street car then I'd probably go with a limited slip diff. I DD'd my locker for 5yrs. It wasnt bad as everyone makes it sound. But I think I'm a different breed than everyone else. no front sway bar, locker, and 90/10's..... damn car drove like a dream...............to me it did. :)

Yea, a friend of mine just had his Eaton diff grenade that way... on 17" DR's in his 03 Cobra

But i guess if you look hard enough, all of the diffs have been broken.

I had an 03 Cobra diff and liked it fine, never gave me any trouble, but i like this locker too. Not near as bad to DD as people make it out to be.
