You dont need to use the ratchet function of the shifter unless you have a manual shift c4 in which case you would have to manually shift it anyway .

To the OP I use a B&M quicksilver with a reverse manual c5 I love it in my 85 capri I used the console it came with will add a pic later today .

Stocker with a 5 speed shift boot over it! Looks really clean and hides the cheezy indicator and whimpy looking stick.

Here is how mine is in my car. The previous owner had his shifter mounted here so I fingered I would try it out first. I like this much better than in the original shifter location. My other car was set up like that with the boot covering the shifter. For me it was not as comfortable comfortable as the way I have it set up now.

When you use the Quarter stick do you have to get the aod bracket from them too that mounts to the trans? I am doing a 4r70w swap in my fox body and I need a shifter. I have the stock cable from the 4r70 trans can I use that or do I need the cable that comes with the quarter stick?

I like the look of the quarter stick in the 5 speed boot.

B&M Hammer Shifter

Car was originally 5-speed so the shifter ended up sitting about an inch higher than it should so I made a spacer for it. Works great.

Hammer shifter. It's ok but a little sloppy imo
