Hi,
I have this car listed on ebay at the link below. Item #180008251990
I’m selling my 1993 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 hatchback. I’m the second owner of this car and knew the first owner. I’ve owned the car for about 9 years and it evolved from a stock daily driver and occasional autocrosser to an occasional daily driver and occasional open track car. The car is fully street legal with cats in place and working a/c. It can be street driven daily if you don’t mind the stiff suspension and higher road noise. I’m a little burnt out on autocross and opentracking after 26 years and have just decided to move on or I wouldn’t be selling this car.
Here’s a run down on the car:
Exterior:
• Completely stock. Teal paint in very good condition.
Suspension:
• Griggs modified K member.
• Griggs torque arm and adjustable panhard rod.
• Welded subframe connectors attached to rocker panel rails.
• Adjustable spring perches on all four corners for weigh jacking.
• Maximum Motor Sports camber/caster plates.
• Koni struts and shocks.
• Larger than stock front and rear sway bars with poly bushings.
• Three point strut tower brace.
• Two point K member brace.
• Delrin A arm bushings.
• Aluminum offset rack bushings.
• Battery relocated to hatchback.
Engine:
I’ve never dyno’d the engine but its combination of parts should be good for about 300HP. It has been built for reliability and durability. It’s a very torquey engine and develops its peak power at about 5,500 RPMs.
• 306 RHO shortblock that has been balanced.
• GT 40 cast iron heads with some porting and 3 angle valve job.
• Cobra intake with minor porting and matching between upper and lower.
• 70 mm mass air.
• Ported 63 mm throttle body.
• Shorty, equal length, ceramic coated headers.
• 1.7 roller rockers.
• Competition Cam. High lift without any overlap.
• Underdrive crank pulley.
• Aluminum radiator with side oil cooling tank connected to engine with SS lines.
• Full exhaust (no dumps) including cats and 2 chamber Flowmasters.
Drivetrain:
• Differential: Gold Track ¾ tight with 3.73 gears.
• 8.8 axle housing modified to accept 9 inch bearings and ½ degree of negative camber.
Brakes:
• 1988 Corvette discs front and rear (same as SCCA A Sedans).
• SS brake lines.
• Proportioning valve.
Interior:
• Oil temperature gauge.
• Fire extinguisher.
• Driver side 3 point belts that snap into rear seat belt. Stock belts also remain in place for street driving.
I have a second set of wheels and tires for open track that come with the car.
Most the work on this car has been completed by a Mustang SCCA A Sedan racer in Broomfield Colorado. His name is Kyle Watkins and the name of the shop is Sensible Automotive (my wife thinks the shop’s name is a misnomer).
