My engine is needing a rebuild.. 140K and oil leaks all over the place.. I think I might as well build it a little. But on a limited budget. Just looking through the forums and reading some mags I'm thnking a good plan would be a 347 Stroker Kit and a pair of AFR 165's. Aside from prepping the block when disassembled would I need many other parts to complete this? Bigger injectors, fuel pump, MAF? Might do a cam at the same time but not sure which one would match up well with those other pieces...

Thoughts?

Bigger heads(185 maybe) 255 fuel pump, bigger inj., good exaust, atleast 355 gears, 373/410 would be better. For a good start.

Fully agree with everyone else. I bought a HCI combo for building up my 302 a couple years ago. Turns out the block needed rebuilt, so I went with a 331 and bolted all the parts I bought for my 302 on it. It was torquey and ran fine, but I knew it was being held back. So I swapped the intake, exhaust and FINALLY did the heads and cam. I went from AFR 165's to 185's with a custom cam matched to everything. It was expensive, but totally worth it.
It hasn't even been a week yet, so it hasn't been to the track or dyno, but the difference is easy to feel. The car is a beast now. Don't waste your time with 165's...especially on a 347.
