I decided to try these tires along with 4.10 gears. My old combo was 275/50-15 M/T drag radials with 3.73 gears. I did a lot of internet searching for pics and comments about these tires to make sure they would fit on a Fox body Mustang. Most comments were positive and most stated that it is probably the best fit & look for a fox body. I decided to take several pics to show you guys how they look on my car with my wheels.

As delivered as shown in the first picture below, the tires measured 27.0" tall. Once installed on my wheels (15x8.5 with 5" bs) and inflated to 28-30 psi, the tires measured 27.5" tall while not on the car. The closest conflict with the body was between the tire and rear ground effects which has approx 3/4" of clearance.

275/50-15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials

As a reference, the pics below were taken while the car had 275/50-15 M/T drag radials on the same wheels. These were taken a week before I put the new tires on my car. I tried to take take the pics from the exact same angles so you can see the difference.

I never really liked how the 275's slightly stuck out of the fender. The 255's look just right in my opinion.

I ran the 255/60 on a 15x8 weld (5.5bs) and DID NOTHING on my 85 GT for clearance. It fit right on...no hammering, no bending, no rubbing.....

Your convos have a wider track due to less back space. I actually shortened my rear 1" each side to get the Centerlines in the center of the wheel well.

Centerline is a 8.5 with 5" bs, which puts the outer lip of the rim 1" further out than say a weld 15x8 with 5.5.
This is a 27x11.50 qtp..on 15x8.5 warrior and it's in the wheel well

255/60

the 275/50 will force you to roll the lip and hammer the inner. And with that rim size/back space you'll still be very close on the outter lip.

A 8.5 would need about 5.75-6" back space to really center it....or do what I did and narrow the rear.

I run a 8.5" rim with 5" back space...and my rear is 1" shorter on each side. The tire is perfectly centered in the wheel well.
