As a little background this was a 28k mile motor and trans with about 15k on the blower and was running when removed.
I was going to start putting this into a fox and primarily for financial reason's decided to put this into my SN95 instead.

I will update this as we go along but, listed below is everything that came with my conversion.

What I am curious about is hidden items and cost's that I have not already figured.

I have a budget of about $3,800 to finish the car and get it running. For now I am looking to get everything working flawlessly and worry about things like e85 later.

Here is what I need and plan to purchase

Clutch - Mcleod RXT - $800
Exhaust - Undetermined - 1k
Hood - Told it wont fit under stock - Cobra R $600
31 spline axles - $250
3.55 gears - $150-200 (already has 3.73 but, that will be to tall I think)
Subframes - Kenny Brown - $350ish
Upper and lower torque box reinforcement. - $80-100
Better boost guage - $100 (will be running 17+)
Xmember for t56?

I've done some reading but, not sure what modifications will be needed to make this work. Any help is appreciated and what good is a thread without some pics :)

good looking car, should be a fun project. not sure about your questions as i have no experience with this. mind me asking how much you paid for the motor/charger/trans?

I've read through his thread a few times already. Any more of those would be great, but the problem you run into 9 out of 10 times is they aren't complete or detailed.

The issues I see running into are the doors or the issues he had with the fuel neck. From what i've read, most of it is drop-in at least with what I have.

I dunno maybe find a real cheap 96-98 complete donor GT? I've seen them for under $1k in a few places at least around me. I know its not in your budget but I bet if you got one for under $1k it would actually save you money from having to buy parts piecemeal and you could part out the car to try to make some or maybe all of the purchase price back.

This would give you all the electronics you need, the fuel stuff and the OBD2 setup too which will make the car way easier to tune when it gets to that time. I know a LOT of the modfox guys do it this way. Find a real clean 4 banger fox for a few $k and a trashed 96-98 GT for next to nothing and combine their powers like Captain Planet.

Edit:

Also this is the crossmember you need to put a T-56 into a 94/95 Cobra/94-98 GT.

Stifflers Mustang Tubular Transmission Crossmember For T45 "cobra spec" , T-56 and TH-400 (94-98) TCBM05

LRS does 6% off for Corral members too, PM a LRS rep (easy to find in the LRS vendor section) for the discount code.

Thank you WLDtang. I just ordered the RXT clutch and Fidanza Flywheel, MM k-member kit and the subframes and upper and lower torque box kit. Just waiting on odds and ends to start arriving.

I think the plan this weekend is to get the subframes welded in and do the upper and lower. Then I can start mocking in the motor.

update

The motor is out. YAY!.. I was able to get the exhaust, motor, and trans out without much issue. We also removed various odds and ends out of the bay.

This week I hope to get the interior stripped down and the rest of the bay empty so that this weekend we can get the Kmember mounted and start mocking in the motor.

The Budget doesnt really allow for it but, I am still torn on going with longtubes or just leaving the stock manifold... decisions decisions.

Nice project! On the headers I'd just leave the stockers in. A guy in my local Mustang club did the longtubes and another guy with an equally modded 04 with stock manifolds made more power on the same dyno.

Longtubes are mentioned in this terminator faq here, a good read for sure: Terminator FAQs

I've done a similar project before, you can click it in my signature and read it if you want. Though I wanted to do a lot of upgrading at the same time, I erred on the side of simplicity to get the project done and running. In the past I've seen projects on these very forums where people started out with a simple project but it was never finished because they kept adding to the complexity and cost of the project.

The idea is to get a clean, reliable install and then start modding it as time and funds allow. Nothing sucks more than a project halfway done and run out of money!

99FiveOh - That is great advise that I think a lot of people should abide by. I started this project back in 2013 as a 347 NA swap into the FOX. After looking at how much I had invested in the NA swap I began to realize that I wasn't much further from a coyote or termi swap. So yeah... Sold off everything and picked this up last March.

I can see how many projects get abandoned due to lack of focus or funds. I will say that I am happy to finally be making some movement and have no intentions of slowing now. There are no more major parts I am missing to piece this snake together, so I dont forsee anything stopping me now. I do appreciate everyone input.

I should have the interior out by weekend pending crazy weather.

99FiveOh is completely correct in this. Just get it back together and get it running and enjoy it for a bit. Then start going crazy with other stuff if you feel the need.

Exactly what I am doing with the low mileage Steeda GT I bought with a blown motor. Low mileage replacement stock PI motor is going right back in vs paying $$$$$$ for a "built" one just to get it going again and set it at a safe tune at 400-450rwhp.

Finally got the dash and the carpet out. Happy to say the inside is really clean. No rust. Next step is to get the rest of the stuff out of the engine bay and start getting the kmember mocked in. That should be tomorrow. I will make sure to gather some pics.

The AFCO heat exchanger did arrive but, I am waiting on the MMR cooling mod. No more parts coming in right now.. I think it is time to start considering the rear end.

I do have some questions regarding using the 03 steering rack. Is it needed or will I be able to keep the 95?
