Can anyone tell me if a fastback is the same as a 2+2? I've heard both yes and no, but nobody can tell me why. I have a 68 fastback, and the owners manual shows the fastback body style as a 2+2.

Set me straight...please!!!

Thanks in advance

If the rear seat is down the car will seat 2, if the seat is up then it will seat the +2.
If the the rear seat is down it will lay 2 :leghump:

but you could get it with the rear seat not movable and it had a flat cardboard top to it that held the speakers.
it made the trunk a little longer toward the front.

i think that they only used the 2+2 designation in the early years...

two plus two,

usually meant actually,
two in the front,
...two in the back,
...and two more in the TRUNK,

when we went to the drive in MOVIES.........!!!!!!

According to the Mustang 1964 1/2 - 1973 restoration guide, all NON GT fastbacks were 2+2s and were badged as such. 2+2 only appeared for 65 & 66 cars.

Thats a very nice red fastback there va tlc.
