Just curious what others are running along with their Bassani X w/cats and how it sounds and if you experienced any gains with it. From what I understand catted X's are quieter than O/R X's so perhaps I should go with slightly more aggressive mufflers. I want my car to sound different than your typical flowmaster mustang both at idle and when going through the gears. It would be nice to have a badass WOT sound too. I don't want to wake up the entire neighborhood when I drive through at night, but I do want the exhaust to turn some heads in traffic =) Thanks guys!

the bassani catback has removable baffles, if you leave them in, you should be "OK," not sure what others think about it-do you work late at night/leave for work in the middle of the night ?
IF you remove the baffles, the bassani will sing! :D

Stock post fix exhaust on my Cobra. Bassani catted X made things a little louder at idle, much better souding when on it.

I have the Bassani catted x-pipe with stock cat back. Like wardmichael said it has a slightly louder sound at idle or cruise, have had many comments on the "unique" sound, and it does scream pretty good at WOT.

I love my combo. Bassani X w/ cats and Dynomax UltraFlow Stainless Steel mufflers. Not loud, but a great aggresive sound. Music to my ears.

What's the deal with the baffles? How hard are they to take out/put on or whatever? That sounds neat =)

No one has touch on whether or not performance was increased with the different mufflers. Anyone see HP increases?

What's the deal with (or without hopefully) drone with the above mentioned systems? Anyone experiencing any or have a setup that is drone-free? Thx!

A drone free Mustang with aftermarket exhaust!! That will be the day.

I have heard some people mention in the past having no drone... which systems have minimal drone then?

I use to run the catted Bassani before I changed to the off-road. I have Borla XR-1's and ran them with both Bassani X's and they sound awesome with either the catted or the off-road.

BORLA XR-1's!!!!! You just can't go wrong with the XR-1's! Did I mention that I like the XR-1's!:D

O Yea, and the least amount of drone I have heard. Hope that helps.

Hey ALLNTRL or anyone else, do you have a sound clip by any chance with the Bassani X + Borla XR-1's? I'm curious to hear the setup. Also what's a good price on the Borla XR-1's and where do you suggest buying from?

Sorry man, I wish I had some sound files to post but, I don't. But, TRUST ME it sounds BAD ASS!:D I bought my XR-1's from Summit for $700. I think Houston Performance is now carrying Borla so, Steve might make you a better price. Houston Performance had good prices on their Bassani products. I would give them a call and check. It is an excellent system if you don't mind spending some dough. You can expect some good RWHP and torque gains as well and fit and finish is excellent! Hope that helps.

BORLA XR-1's RULE!!!!!!!!:D

Running the Bassani catalytic X-pipe with the Bassani Quiet Thunder cat-back behind it. Depending on my mood, phase of the moon and so-forth I usually leave the resonators in the tailpipes. I do a lot of highway driving, though, so I've come to appreciate the lack of drone when they're installed.

As for the comments about a performance exhaust for the Mustang without drone being a mythical beast... Bassani seems to have that unicorn locked down tight. Resonators in = No Drone. Resonators out = Louder, but drone.

Resonators remove with a single Allen wrench set-screw on the bottom of the pipe. Takes 30 seconds to install or remove, and that's including time to get my lazy butt down on the ground to reach them. :)
