Well just did the KOER test.Turns out I have a 98 & 66 fault.

BINGO...... there's the reason for the CEL.....

Yup.I thought if Ive got faults they should show up under the KOEO test.Once again Im wrong.

Also keep in mind that code 98 is caused by the existence of code 66..... fix 66 and 98 will disappear.

Good info guys.So code 66 is for the maf or trans oil temp sensor,(I dont think I have one). Now when this thread started liljoe(thanks joe)provided the flow chart & everything checks out.Ive got a almost new pro-m maf on the car.Can I put a stocker on to test it? I dont even think it will run if im running 24 lb inj.Right?

MAF signal...... looks like you need to monitor that signal with a DVOM.... specially when the CEL turns on by checking the voltage near the ECM connector. LUK

Redo the MAF test, and on the last step, with the DVOM to ground, test both MAF SIG and RTN. Both should be between .2-1.5v. I have the same meter as you, and mine was in those specs.

Sorry Joel posted and didn't know you posted. This site needs a "warning new posts were posted while you was typing" like another GREAT site I know off!!!!

While running or key on?

Same as the diagram I poster earlier. Just on the last test, with key running, dvom to ground and test maf sig and maf rtn. You may wanna do joels test first. And I'm posting from my phone, and can't remember what pin the maf sig at the ecm is. Maybe joel will tell you.

the car will idle fine with a stocker on it.

I remembered Ive got a c&l maf sensor lying around thats calibrateed for 24lb ers.Guess I can hook it up just for a quick test.

Well I just couldent go on vac not knowing if a maf would fix it so I left the eec unplugged for the day to clear the faults then I put my c&l on & fired it up.Unfortunately the cel came on within 5 sec of running it.I thought for sure it would fix it so I guess I have some wire diag to do when I get back.

Try the alternate code clearing method. As soon as the KOEO starts to flash, remove the jumper(or scanner) then unhook battery for about 10mins. If you try Joel5.0 method of checking the MAF SIG wire at the ECM, Its PIN 50 on the ECM harness.

2 last questions before I call it quits for the night.I know I have to ck the voltage at pin 50 while running.Any clue what voltage I should have?
And when checking the last step at the maf (post 28) should the engine be running?
Thanks for all the help.Ive gotta get my butt off the computer & start packing.Have a good wk.
