After searching for 6 months, I finally found a 2.3/5 speed Mustang. It's a bright red 92, with about 100,000 miles. No rust, factory pop out sunroof, 15" 10 hole wheels, but a small amount of damage on the driver's front fender, and no stereo. Dealer wants $2200. Acceptable price for this car??
Buddy of mine trashed his 87 turbocoupe, so I'm hoping to do a turbo swap.

i bought my 87 notch 2 years ago for $1800. it's a 2.3L. it had 40,776 miles (yes, 40,776), minimal rust, new paint, new headlights, new brakes, and newer tires. bought it from a private seller, not a dealership. i'm located in NJ. it does depend on where you are located. he was asking $2000. i think i lucked out but if i were you, i'd stay under $1800 for that car.

Depends..really..
I have just recently dipped into the Mustang field by running across a 93 LX (trunk) 2.3L/manual tran w/ 90k...for 800!! The car was in tip-top shape, owner had fallen into divorce....
The pour little four banger has dual exhaust, and I've been tested at every red light in town....when they find out she's a four, they comenst to wanting to know of how much that I'll take for her...
It's a great car, because she gives you the impression that she's a sleeper, but w/o stopping at every gas station along the way!

I'd actually look into the classifieds, or your local "Trader/Thrifty Nickel" paper for deals, the dealer's out for profit.

My 2 cents, -t
