Just curious how many use their Cobra's as daily drivers? I just picked mine up a week ago and have already gone through a tank of gas (maybe 200 miles)...I could only imagine if it were my daily driver...
I was.. I picked up an 89 LX and have been using that instead. But for the first 3+ years I owned it, it was my DD.

What do you mean by 'siped' - never heard of that (seriously).
Check out their webpage for pics as that will probably make more sense that what I can describe.

But........basically what they do is remove each tire/wheel and mount it in a fixture. A set of blades slices into the tread approx. half way down the depth of the tread blocks. What this does is increase the number of gripping edges from the standard tread pattern. Just the wet weather traction difference alone was amazing. I went from having a hard time keeping the tires from loosing grip in third gear on on ramps (let alone first or second from standing starts) to first gear gripping if I was just a tad careful.

what are your current tires?

I had 215 front and 225 (tall 28") rear on 10 holes that were siped on the hatch. On the Cobra I've got Nitto 555s. 245/45 up front and new 255/45s out back. Thank god for the traction control w/ these in the snow now. I'll be curious if my results are as good as I had w/ the winter tires on the hatch.

Mine is a daily driver except in snow. 97 Cobra with 4.30's, 90k+ miles and going strong.

but not in snow, sleet or any really harsh conditions...love her toooo much
that's WHY I drive it all year. could never stand to park a car for too long. too fun to drive (and we don't get a helluva lot of snow here near detroit anymore).

Daily driver from 10/00 to 05/04. I bought an Audi wagon to be the daily driver. The mustang was getting a little overly aggressive for daily use; hiem joints for front control arm bushings, Sparco Pro2000 race shell (seat) and roll bar made it cumbersome every day.

Daily driver since I got it in April 2003. I had a '92 LX 5.0 before this and it was also a daily drive for about 10 years. Snow days, well, I let my wife take me to work twice last year in the TBlazer. Way too much fun to NOT drive it.....even at MY age.

I swap out between the two now...pretty soon it'll just be a weekend thing...I'd have to agree though, its hard to look at something so fun to drive just sitting in the garage...its like my old bike, had it 6 months and only put 1700 miles on it...who knows, glad to see some decent gas mileage though

<<<< Bought 12/21/01 w/31K on the clock.

Today, 82,500 and still going stong daily.

Thinking of putting a Kenne Bell on her someday soon.

My 99 was a daily driver until this summer. I picked up a 04 dark shadow grey Lightning.

I drive mine every day weather permits. I try not to drive it in precipitation of any kind, that's what my beater car is for, but otherwise yes, I drive the Cobra all the time when it's dry out. I don't get bad gas mileage unless I get into boost (obviously). :D

I drive the 5.4 Stang EVERYDAY!
