What kind of power do you guys make?
What are your combos?
What heads/flow?
Also, does anybody knwo what flow ported Windsor SR's are capable of?
Also, with cast steel crank and 4340 h beam rods, what is the power and rpm limit??
thanks,
brad

DSS 408W 4340 forged steel crank, H beam rods, MSS, windage tray, custom cam, flat tappet lifters, TEA cncd(205 program) Trick Flows, super victor intake, custom venolli 10:1 pistons.
Thats all I have done for now, but I am going to put on a BIGS carb, and 1 7/8" headers 3" X pipe.
With all of that I have been told that 600fwhp is easily reachable n/a. From both DSS and TEA.
Sounds like it should be fun, but I will have to see :D

Same here.

Eagle 408 kit, 10.4:1 compression. AFR 205's, FTI custom solid roller, Super Victor, Holley 1000cfm double pumper, Hooker 2" Super Comps and hopefully some decent tuning should have me easily at the 550hp mark, odds are closer to 600 though. My goal is 550 so anything more is a bonus. It's being assembled right now and hopefully on an engine dyno within the next month or so.

10's shoudl be a piece of cake and it'll have a ton of torque all over the place by the sounds of things.

I've got a set that flowed 286/210 last time on the bench, have a little more work done now. For sale if interested, I need a smaller chamber :)

Forgot to mention this in my post. The Windsor Srs will make great power on a 393/408. The guy that did my machine work and will dyno the motor built a 377w using a set. He did very basic, but thorough porting, stock valve sizes. They flowed 285/195, the motor with 9.5:1 compression, solid flat cam (sorry, no specs) vic jr, 1 3/4" headers made 515hp with an 850cfm. Horsepower peak was around 6500rpm so it wasn't a huge cam. Motor goes 10.1x in a 2400lb Fairlane, so I'd say the Windsor Srs work just fine.

Here's the motor specs. I'm using ARP studs/bolts for damn near everything and everything is internally balanced:

Cubic inch: 408ci
Block: '69 351w block half filled and girdled
Crank: Eagle Forged 4340 Steel
Rods: Eagle H beam forged 4340 Steel
Pistons: Custom Arias Nitrous Pistons (10.8:1)
Heads: Trickflow TFS-R (box stock)
Cam: Custom Ed Curtis Solid Roller (.268/.276 @ .050 .640/.650 114 LSA)
Intake: Edelbrock Super Victor
Carb: Holley 1000cfm Double Pumper
Roller Rockers: Comp Cams Pro Magnum 1.6s
Lifters: Crower Solid Roller

Exhaust:

Hooker 2" primary 3.5" collector full length
3.5" Custom Mandrel X pipe
3.5" Race Magnum Ovals with dumps

I'm hoping to see about 650hp @ the crank with this setup. Ed Curtis guessimated between 625-650, so I should be good to go.

Hey Chilly I am very interested in seeing what your combo makes! I am looking at basically that same combo and also a Hydro Roller, for my 89coupe.Who came up with those specs and all??? And one other thing how is that 408 kit that U have compare to a 393 in longevity?? Thanks and be sure to post your dyno numbers or drop me an email at trey193@hotmail.com

Cam was done by FTI. The 408 should hold up just fine, pistons are short but the ring lands are not breached by the wrist pin.

The 393 would be easier on rings due to the longer pistons, but I doubt any engine making big power like this would be together for 100,000miles so it wasn't really a consideration for me.
