What mufflers are you track guys using that are matted to your long tube headers and dumped? Looking for pics and sound clips etc of the above setup without Flowmasters and Mac products!Anything else welcome!

Not Mac or Flowmaster but in the "anything else category" the Dynomax Super Turbos work very well and are inexpensive. I recommend them and any Dynomax mufflers really.

I ran dumped super turdbos for years. To be honest it sounded like ass IMO. I put up with it because I am a cheap bastard.

I am now back to flows. Call me a sheep if you would like lol but I like the sound of them.

I also like the sound of MACs.:)

I ran Dynomax Race Magnum bullets slipped onto my collectors for a year. Then a rule for the class I wanted to run said I needed a full length exhaust so I put a Dr. Gas "X" pipe on it and ran the bullets off that. Pure evil sounding.

This year I'm swapping on some Hooker Aerochambers to quiet it up a bit, I don't want to swap exhaust anymore to drive it on the street. It was a wee bit loud with the bullets in 3.5" size.

Ya got no business driving that thing on the street ;)
Check into the hooker maxflo's instead of the aerochamber's
Could it be the same muffler?....not sure i been drinking hehehe
if so disreguard this post LoL

LOL Mark!

It'll be getting the Aerochambers 'cause I've had them sitting in the basement for 3 years now. Just need to wider the rear section of the X pipe and on they go. I was even thinking about dual 3.5" stainless tailpipes under the rear and out. May be a pain to pull off though.

Here is a clip from Saturday of the Dr. Gas x-pipe on BBK long tubes using dynomax Race Bullits and turn downs just ahead of the axle. I love them at the drag strip, but they are a little noisy on the street. I run Dynomax Ultra-Flo's on the street with pipes to the bumper. The race Bullits sound pretty much like open headers, and the price and weight are right.

Don't worry about the time on this run or the bite. The air will be better and the surface MUCH better next time out. Its hard to run 10s in 4000 ft air on a green track.

Ultraflows, magnaflows and Max flows are all straight through designs. They are max flowing mufflers, but are very loud at WOT blasts. Good at idle and cruise speeds. I have Max flows by Hooker now.

Ultraflows and magnaflows = expensive glass packs. :D

2" Primary, 3.5" collector Hooker Super Comps
3.5" Dr Gas X pipe
3.5" Dynomax Ultraflos

I'll get some sound clips maybe this weekend or something, exhaust was done up yesterday :)

I got sick of the constant drone from turndowns so I am going with Warlock mufflers with tailpipes on the street, then I can open up the bypass at the track. Best of both worlds?? Anybody have these mufflers?

bluGT88, you get what you pay for when it comes to mufflers. you pay a good buck, you get quality, best flowing, great sounding mufflers. you want cheap, restrictive mufflers get super turbos or bah warlocks...

If Warlocks are cheap ($67 ea) what are Flowmasters?? If by "you get what you pay for" you mean pro style bullits, I had them and they did not muffle worth crap!!

Yeah that doesn't quite add up as there are Flows that cost 90 bucks a piece now. Although there is nothing wrong with flows contrary to somes belief. There really is just a bunch of haters out there.

I change mufflers like underwear just because i like to experiment. I like flows...just tired of them...i've got a set of 10 year old 3 chambers on the car that are as loud as 2 chambers. LOL I want to try the warlocks just becuase i like the cutout deal on those. I like ultraflows and will end up with those when i get sick of changing them.

nice quote steve-o!

I got a set of 1 3/4 Mac longtubes going to a Summitt 3" xpipe into bullets with no turndowns. The thing just sounds sick. You know, its has gotten to be one of "those" cars at the track where everybody shuts up when you are doin your burnout to watch and listen. I love the way the car sounds with it, even to the point I will let one of my buddys make a few passes at the track just so I can listen. It is WAY to loud to drive everyday though.
