Hey everyone, i have a 2000 mustang gt, looking at it, there are a few things that dont add up, one being its non pi. im guessing that it may be a swap out from maybe a 96-97-98? the oil filler is on drivers side, is there any way i can id this engine to give me more of a idea to what it may of came out of, also, is the bottom end of these all the same? would a pi head and pi intake swap make it the equivilant to what would have come in the 2000? im new to all this and am trying to learn my way around the mod motors. Thanks in advance

If you have a small camera you can stick it under the exhaust manifolds and take a few pictures to catch the part number on the heads. That will tell you if its non-PI or PI for sure. Like stated above, the pistons are the only major thing to worry about if you plan to swap PI heads on to it.

Putting PI heads on a NPI short block will increase the compression into the 10.5:1 range.

I feel your pain though..... My 99' GT has a NPI engine, with the PI intake on it. I already have a Windsor PI motor from a 2000 GT waiting to go in.
