Hey,

I'm thinking about running the Z-303 cam.. Do you think its to much for my combo I'm going with? let me know..

306, 351W DOOE Heads Port and poished, 1.84 1.54 valves,
screw in studs with 1.6 Roller rockers, 10:0.1 Compression,
Redone Bottom end, balanced, Performer RPM Intake, 650DP Carb, longtube Headers, 2 1/2 Exaust with flowmasters,
underdrive pullys, Tranny- C-4, 3500 Stall converter, reverse Manuel valve boddy, New billet servo, 4:10 gears in a 9inch, 28'' tall tires, what do you think? will this combo Pull hard to 6500 with the Z-303 cam? Thanks,

The cam is good to that RPM. But the heads, what else has been done to them? Not familar with the 70 year heads, but usually the chambers were a little big (less compression) and they didn't flow as well as newer heads. Plus, the valves are on the small side for what that z cam can really release. The cam will work, but you'd get more out of it with a better set of heads i.e. Eldebrocks, TFS, AFRs, Worlds, etc..... Your 10. compression, is that based off of your pistons alone?

The 1970 351W DOOE heads are about the best Stock Head Ford ever used on the SBF.. Almost as good as the P heads..

Specs on my Heads.. 60cc chambers, Flow alot better than the late model heads.. the late model heads only have 1.78 1.46 valves like the 302 heads, DOOEs have 1.84 1.54 valves,
I'm using DSS Racing Forged Two Valve Releifs Flat tops.
there 10:0.1 with 58cc chambers... My block was Milled .010, and my heads are Milled .020 so it should be atleast 10:0.1..

Now what do you think? Go with the X-303 or Z-303.?

If your reference to the P head is correct, then the head options mentioned by the previous poster will definitely let the cam do it's thing better than the ones you're talking about.

Yeah I know.. I think I'm going to go with some Roush 200s..
I'll get them bare, Put new valves in them with some Ignort valve Springs... So with the combo above and some Roush 200s will it inprove alot? compared to the 351W DOOEs?

Dude,that is an awesome cam for that set up.I'm running it with Tfs heads,Vic Jr intake, and a Holley 650dp Carb. 3.73s is awesome w/26" tire,but I switched to 28"tall and 4.10s w/tko500. (3.27 first gear )342rwhp.92 fox vert.
