Weighed my H.D. just before going to the track.
With me in it-----5445lbs.

For those of you that think you need backpressure:::
Last best runs with converters was 13.6~'s @ 99.9
Removed converters with stock H.D muffler for todays best.
This is the only change that was made.
Also for those that want to change their stock H.D. muffler????I say why????

These runs were made on 26x10.5x16 e.t. streets.
(I was still slightly hazing the tires though).
going through the traps @ 5200 rpm.

I must say im tickled pink.

What were the mods? Impressive time for a truck with that weight.

Nice job!

What mods? How much boost?

Aren't these trucks great?

My girlfriend just got her first 12 sec e.t. in her L also. A 12.61 @ 107.69 last weekend on pump gas and ET streets, 13 psi of boost.

You mean to tell me that you shaved over .6 in the 1/4 by just removing your stock converters and nothing else? Were you running slicks when you were running 13.6's? Was the weather the same? When did you make your last run with the converters?

I just don't see how you can shave over .6 by just removing your converters.

After re-reading, my post is misleading.
The cats were removed "and" et streets were the 2 changes that were made.
both together made the .6
HOWEVER-----removing the cats was the biggest improvement i have ever felt or seen in a vehicle. Power gains were easly and "extremely" noticeable.
So noticeable, that running on any type of street tire would be totally useless.
The weather was very close to the same conditions. about a month apart.
Before i could launch on street tires with little or no spinning. NOW, its just a joke, totaly uncontrollable, backpedaling, tire frying, sparks shooting fun.
I measured very high back pressure with the cats ~8-10 psi,
without the cats ~1-2.
On a stock vehicle, the cats are probably good enough, but turn up the boost and they are totally killing your power gains.
And obviously this is for off road use only. :D
