On my 98 Cobra, I have BBK L/Ts, Off-road H (w/MIL Elimins). If I eliminate the entire Secondary Air Injection System (smog pump, pressure valve, and lines that go into the front of the headers on both sides), will the Check Engine light come on??? My light is on because the guy who did the install did not reconnect the line from the valve to the driver's side header (he just capped it off). Before I get him to reconnect it, can I just remove this entire usless system without having the light go on? Also, I've heard that you can have the subroutine of the computer that controls this code permanently turned off - if so, how/where can you get this done?

I had to turn the check off in the EEC (using EEC-Tuner, but most chips turn this off) and also had to leave the little grey thing from the air pump connected to the wiring harness.

But if you do that you can totally remove it no MIL/CEL.
