Im just curious as to who runs "open air filters"? Im currently using the ProM 80mm MAF w/bigmouth filter and the densecharger powerpipe. Ive read that a lot of Cobra guys are running this same filter/maf with the UPR powerpipe. Then there are the other guys that run WMS, Densecharger, and AFM pipes that go into the fenderwell. Has anyone ever done a comparison dyno? There is a really good thread about metal cai and that is the point for this thread. I wonder how much of the heatsoak that metal pipes have cancel the cold air they draw. Meaning the engine would see the same temp air with and open filter and plastic pipe vs. a metal cai in the fenderwell. To me this makes the densecharger seem like it would "out perform" most other CAI, because it has less chance of heat soak and its air comes from the fender. Anyone else have input?
