Interested in replacing some of my exhaust, and at this point may wish to just BUY some pieces, instead of custom mandrel bend again...

Darius,

While not a Spintech result, here's a site I found after ditching the mufflers I wanted to use for a side exit setup not wanting to pay DR Gas prices.

http://www.burnsstainless.com/OvalTubing/ovaltubing.html

Dr Gas does have a nice round to oval to round peice for frame clearance (re: subframes) but at 126 each I thought that was kind of steep. Wish that I had found Burns Stainless earlier.

BTW, are you going to the Northwoods meet at RA again in September?

Thanks for the link. I thought about doing some custom bends (again), but the price of the metal, then custom bending... $$$

Might just wimp-out, and get some already made from Spintech. I just wanted PHOTOS of the Spintech installed to make sure I can use them.

Old WITH subframes and 2.75" ground clearance:

Now I have thru-the-floor subframes, so I have an extra 2" clearance, that I want to replace the (smashed) pipes upward. No need to go under the subframes any longer. See how the right pipe is flattened and need replacing:

Sn8kbit,

That's exactly what I've been looking for and trying to picture also. With my current car setup the rear rocker panel is only 7 inches from the ground. If I assume one inch above the oval tube, the oval tube is 3 inches high, that leaves only 3 inches of ground clearance. That's very close.

Do any of the AI guys who run the side exhaust setup also have the Griggs WC control arms (28") ... I wonder if they interefere?

No problem, found that page doing a search on google for "spintech side exhaust, mustang", not my car, but I have been looking for something that would clear the MM full length. I'm still trying to figure out which subframes are on that car, they don't look like the "stepped" SFCs that spintech has been offering.

I have a friend running AI midwest, not sure which subs he has, but they are full length. He's running a Dr Gas Boom Tube out each side, and it's narrower than the oval tubing on any of the 3 "oval tubing" sites I've found. Wider also. Sounds wicked also. (heh, is that a factor? ;) ) [on edit, I do believe he's running WC arms]

97, checked the website again, and I read wrong, it is 129 a pair. DANG...LOL

Can you guys list the specific URL for DR Gas side-exit pipes. I saw the boom tubes, but not after that.

Also, do you know where to get nice oval tips like these, that aren't $80 each!

remind me why you can't run tailpipes? I know the 5-link doesn't allow it, but TA/PHB setup should....

'97 GT, w/ MM T/A, PHB and adjustable stabar - stock tailpipes still in place. Close, but it all fits.

Griggs and Steeda adjustable PHB and Steeda 5-link are probably going to require side exit or dumps. MM stuff works fine.

Full MM rear setup with tailpipes (coilovers, PB, HD TA, rr lowers). I'm running the Dynomax (Super Turbo) Cat back system, no problems.

I'm going to switch to side exit exhaust soon though to save some more weight.

I ordered a dynomax universal sidepipe hookup kit from summit. $49.95 I had to cut the pipes to the right length that was it. I installed new flowmaster delta flow 2-chamber stainless steel mufflers. Offset in center out. No problem with subframes.
