What size rear tires/wheels will fit my Fox for the strip?

I'm running 17x9 Ford Cobra R's with 275/40's on the street... going to get a set of Centerline Convo Pro's (I already have a set of 15x4's with 26x4.50 ET Fronts) and ET Drags for the strip--should I go with 15x8.5 or 15x10? The real big question is what backspace? 26x10 ET Drags or 26x9? I ran my old set of 26x11.50x16 ET Streets (that I ran on the Cobra) mounted on 16x10 Diamonds with 6" backspacing last night at the strip with no problems... leaning toward 15x10 Convos with 10" Drags. Too much tire for my combo? Also worried about clearance as the Convo Pros only come in a 6.5" BS--may be close. BTW--I have the 2300 Ford 5 lug Cobra front/rear disc conversion--not sure if that changes the rear track width? For those interested--I did manage a 12.32 @ 114.5 through the converters with the mildest tune on a 'well-seasoned' set (3 years) of 16" ET Streets at 2000 ft altitude and no track prep or VHT  . Corrects to a 12.02 @ 117.3... I think with the soon to be installed Dr. Gas o/r x, more aggressive chip (+3 degrees and 5% fuel) and a new set of ET Drags I should get comfortably into the 11's. At least I hope!

go 15X8 with a 9 inch slick or 15X10 with a 10 inch slick. they will both fit but the 9 will not rub at all and most likely will have to hammer the wheel well for the 10inch or was the hammering for the 10.5W. the answer is yes they will fit. i have fit 28X12.5X15 et streets in a stock fenderwell and it does rub a bit around corners

Congrats on the #s.....it seems to be running well. How many passes did you make? Did you run it in the same tune that it was in when you took delivery?

FWIW, your rear Cobra Rs have 6.42" of backspacing.

Also, I've heard from several reliable sources that the King Cobra clutch isn't very slick friendly for high RPM launches....beware.

Thanks Sean. Yeah--I ran it in exactly the tune I recieved it. Made 5 passes all between 12.32 and 12.64 (that was with an extra passenger), MPH all between 113 and 114.5. Launching at 4500 rpm, no power-shifting, short times really sucked--all between 1.89 and 1.97... the ET Streets have probably 70 passes on them and are nearly 3 years old--just ran them because I had them on hand and they do grip a lot better than the radials. Car looked bad-ass hunkered down on the 10" wide rear tires/wheels with the skinnies on the front. Out of probably 20 Fox bods there, mine was the 2nd fastest :D. Brett93Coupe (Incon twin turbo setup on a stock long-block with slicks and intake) ran a 11.64 @ 118--he had ran a 11.30 @ 124 at sea level a couple of weeks ago (just shows you how much the heat and altitude really affects us!). The 20+ mph headwind we were running into did not help either...
