My best friend just got his R302 block from Raceparts Distribution Inc. in Cornelius, NC. These guys are great to do business with.
I think he paid between $1,800-2,000 for the machined/prepped block. I don't know if that's the cheapest price, but it was cheapest for us because we didn't have to pay shipping for it. We were going to the Holcomb Civil Wars anyway; and as chance would have it, so were they. So they just brought the block along with them and we picked it up there.
The R blocks need to have the cylinders honed/finished. They are in pretty rough shape from Ford. The main journals need line honed, the block needs decked, and cam bearings need to be pressed in.
