What engine oil grade should I use for my 20,000 mile GT? I live in Miami, FL and it is usually over 80 deg. especially in the summer. Should I use...

1. 10W40
2. 5W20
3. etc...

I would just get what ford says you should get, Which is 10w30 for 2000, I think. Make sure you get motorcraft oil and filter :)

Exactly use the factory recommended 5w30. Mobil one is what I use.

How 'bout 5w30 non-Synthetic? Is 5W30 much thicker than 10W40?

It's thinner than 10w40 you don't want to use 10w40 unless your looking for an early rebuild on your motor.

Interesting, i've always thought the thicker the better especially in hot Miami where its over 80 everyday now in the summer.

OIL

Mobil 1-Motorcraft filter. Purolator Pure One is good too. I'd go with 5w30.
