I tried installing a raptor shiftlight today. I hooked up everything according to the instructions on their website. I tapped into pin26 from the ecu, tapped into a switched and fused wire, and grounded. I turned the key to the on position and the gauges turned all the way over(speedometer, rpm gauge) and came back down and the cooling fan came on. The car turned over but would not start. I unhooked the shiftlight and the same thing happens. Did I F-up my computer?

OK, I'll ask. Did you disconnect the batter before you started your install?

If you unhooked the shiftlight, and it still won't start, I'd say your ECU is fried. :(

Found the problem!!! I knocked my chip loose on the top of the ecu. Tightened it down and problem resolved. Whew!:joy: Thanks for the response. Quick question about the battery cables, I only unhooked the negative during the install. Should I have unhooked the positive as well?

The negative should be just fine, as long as it doesn't ground anywhere on the chassis. Never thought to ask if you had a chip or not. :D
