If you had both head units which would you use? The car is a 331 in a boss block. It is set up fairly mild. Performer RPM heads, Trick flow street intake, 1 5/8 shorty headers and 2.5in exhaust. Camshaft is a custom FTI. Car has made 480HP already and Id like to push it up towards 550 whp. Is the small CFM and efficiency increase of the SCI going to overcome the little extra airflow down low of the s-trim? Which would be your choice and why?

Thanks,
Jake

The SCi is a newer design. It's more efficient and can move more air overall. I'd choose the SCi. 550 rwhp would be difficult through an auto with an S trim, but not impossible. The SCi will have an easier time hitting that number, it'll also be more efficient and stress the engine less. I assume the 480 rwhp was with the S trim? What trans are you running? (there's an easy 80-100 rwhp difference between a T5 and a glide at that level)

Send it to Vortech and get an Si impeller upgrade. I'm glad I did.
