hi guys,

so my trunk light bulb and headliner bulb stays on as if my trunk is always open.

here are some tests I've conducted,

I took my multimeter and checked the ohm at the latch. when it's open there is OHM when latch is in shut position there is no OHM.
which I think makes sense so this confirms my latch is still good.

then I plugged my multimeter on the latch connector. there is tiny amount of voltage which makes sense it has to be always active to detect if latch is open or not and small voltage like 0.00x so that it doesn't drain the batter.

then I checked the connector at the trunk bulb side.

when latch is in open position (trunk is open) there is 12.xx voltage on the wire which mekes sense. now when the latch is shut (trunk closed) I assume voltage should be 0 but it's something like 0.0xx which is enough to power up the bulb.

I need help to figure this out not sure what I'm missing...

What vehicle?

a 12volt incandescent light needs 12 volts, or it goes dim..........

What switches are involved? trunk, door?

If you have a short to power after the switch, the light will stay on until the battery is dead.

link the wiring diagram you are using.
