So, I ordered the ProM EFI system, and chose that I have a TKX transmission. The harness that came from ProM for the Trans hookup has 2 connectors. One is for the Speed sensor on the passenger side of the TKX, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what the other plug is for. Any help is appreciated!

So far so good! It feels very stiff right now, but it still has less than 100 miles on it. I need to get my H-pipe tucked up a little higher as it scrapes the ground occasionally. How is yours working out so far? How was the install?

I hope you're enjoying your TKX transmission. John Janek and I just installed one in my 94 Mustang last weekend.
Old Transmission: Tremec TKO600 w/4615 steel gears for increased TQ capacity.

See ya

We did our installation the old fashion way with the car on jack stands (front) and ramps (rear). Honestly, the installation went very well, nothing out of the ordinary and maybe John will chime in with his impression of the installation. I can't comment on shifting impressions because the car is still on jack stands and ramps.

Oh sh!t I just realized John will probably drive it before me because I'll be on vacation for the next 3 weeks. So I'm sure he'll post his driving, and shifting impressions when time permits.

I have no knowledge of transmissions, so I have no idea if the stiffness is normal and what it should feel like once it's broken in. What did you use for a shifter handle? My old TKO600 has an MGW shifter, and that won't work on the new TXK, as far as I know.

When I put a TKX in mine, I just used a Steeda Tri-Ax Handle. I did drill out the holes slightly and used the bolts that came with the TKX to mount it. It is a short throw style shifter.

Thanks for posting the information above.

I did the same and used the Tri-Ax shifter handle with a spacer John Janek made for me. I'm still trying to figure out what John calls it, but I'll post a few photos below. It positions the shifter handle in an ideal position for the driver. I'm a big fan of the MGW lineup of shifters, but unfortunately, they don't make a shifter for the TKX now.

I'm picking up my car from John's house today and need to put some miles on the transmission before dynoing my new supercharger (F-1D) and testing a new feature (🤫) for the Pro-M EMS.

Thanks

Before my inbox gets flooded with one or two PMs, I should explain what GGT stands for. Before John fabricated the spacer thing (feel free to provide a name for this thing) for me, I had to agree to let him put his signature GGT on it...... a true story, and I'm not a big fan of the name.

Anyways, GGT stands for Good Guys Tuning. Like some of us, John is fed up with the lack of quality work and tunes he has seen on other people's vehicles. So we decided to partner up on a few select projects because we know we can do better. So as my car leaves John's garage, a beautiful 1996 Saleen Mustang will slide into the bay as we look to repair a no-oil pressure condition. FYI, the owner has tried a new sending unit, a new line, and another oil pressure gauge.

Thanks

My first impression of the Tremec TKX transmission......flawless victory for Tremec.

The TKX shift feel is much smoother and more positive than my older TKO600. The work TREMEC put into the shifting effort and feel is something that improves the whole driving experience because it produces a solid and secure shift every time. And before I forget, John's spacer puts the shifter handle at the right height and location for all my shifting needs.

I hope this helps
