Dont know why exactly it is grinding but are you going up into 5th gear before you go into reverse. If not, try that. Seems to help with mine. I think it has something to do with reverse not being a syncronised gear. Dont quote me on that though
Reverse is not synchronized. Its supposed to grind. A synchro matches speeds of the shafts being meshed together. 1st and reverse are the closest ratios. So putting it in 1st will get the speeds closest.
I second the 1st to reverse swing. I have a Tremec 3550 and I'll get some grindage if I go right to reverse without first shifting into 1st gear. It does have to do with reverse being a non-synchronized gear. Reverse is also a straight cut gear which makes it even more prone to being noisy.
