ok here is my problem:

1) my car keeps popping out of reverse, i checked the clearance with the stops on my shifter and they are not touching, about 1/8" clearance. This seems to happen only when i slip the clutch in reverse, if i back up fast it won't happen.

2) this next one just happened on saturday, my car keeps popping out of 2nd gear only on a downshift, however it will stay in if i hold in gear.

does anyone know what is wrong and if GM synchromesh would help any of this.

My tranny "was" also doing this. It was also grinding 2nd on a hard shift as well as 4th. The shifter stops were setup correctly. This past Friday my tranny finally let go. Im going to get another T45 and rebuild the one I just broke. Ill always have another T45 ready as long as I stay NA.

My guess is its just a sign that your tranny is weakening. Even changing the fluid didnt help with my problems.

Similar problems here. I say synchronizers will do the trick.

Usually the gears are fine but they are not messing well.

If you let it go the trans will give because of the extra pressure.

I bet everything else is fine.

I unfortunately have too much experience with this problem...
