Tire wheel combo

Hey guys I’m looking for input from those of you running 18x8.5 front and 18x10 rear +20 offset.

I have decided to use 285/35R18 rear. The
dilemma I have, I can’t decide which front tire will be better for performance and appearance.
I have MM coil over front setup 12/250 springs.

I’m leaning toward 245/40 or 255/40. I’m hoping others have a similar setup and Could lend a hand.

Thanks guys

What are your over all goals? I assume just aggressive street since you have a soft 250 lb spring up front. As well, a 12" spring will not be kind to larger front wheels. You will want to look into a 10" spring for sure. How much clearance do you have to the bottom of the front coil seat to the wheel? Do the math with the larger wheels and tires.

For Autocross, and road racing a square stance is more ideal and you have the ability to rotate tires.

Staggered stances are not ideal for front engine cars as you will have wasted grip with a larger rear tire and smaller up front. Car will tend to push more easily.

If this is purely for looks, honestly a fat front and matching rear tire with larger fenders looks sick on these cars. But staggered wheels have their place for sure.

I plan to auto cross and street drive. I went with the spring package MM suggested based on my goals unfortunately after I chose wheels. I agree a squared setup is more ideal for a multitude of reasons, less understeer, rotation, substantial grip improvement.

my fear was and opinions from others were 18/10 won’t work on the front without fender flaring, overall clearance, rubbing, etc. Is that information incorrect? Will 18/10 fit without issue?
