what would cause the timing on a motor thats idiling to jump all around,i mean at idle the timing is going up and down etc,etc...everything on this motor is new except the cam, anybody want to take a stab at this,i think its the cam.
what type of distributor do you have? If it's an afermarket MSD, Accel< Mallory, ect It has a mechanical advance system that is controled with springs. the springs may be to light allowing the advance to kick in at idle. and if you have a lopy cam the idle changes a little slowing the advance therfore causing the mark to bounce. try using the next stiffest spring combo, and see if it calms down a little.
