Just fired up my 1990 LX convertible yesterday after a H/C/I swap. I am attempting to tune the setup using Decipha's A9L2 base calibration via my A9P and Quarterhorse in TunerPro RT.

So far I am very impressed and like the setup a lot. As a complete newbie to EFI tuning, using the A9L2 setup I have been able to enter my settings for injectors, MAF and other misc settings and get the car started and idling basically on the first try.
Now I am datalogging and starting to tweak the maf curve. The history tables in the logs help dial everything in.
Looking forward to continuing to dial it in !

A9L2 / EFIDynoTuning

Video of first start after I set timing. Not perfect but better than I was expecting for an initial start.

would be nice to see some snaps to wot
not yet, still more tuning to get to that point. Right now if you hit the throttle rapidly it stumbles pretty good.

Throttle response is 10x better after some tweaking. I have been trying a regular A9P bin in Binary Editor as well and while that works OK, I keep coming back to the A9L2 as I seem to be able to make better progress.

you cannot use the a9l2 tune in binary editor since there is no strategy file for it (GUFX not GUFB), you have to use tunerpro with the correct GUFX strategy otherwise some of the values that appear to be correct in gufb will not be doing what you actually think they are

Glad to hear it worked out good for you. I'm writing my startup tune now with the A9L2 as the base. Its nice to have a good starting point. I got most of it done just need to work on getting all the smog stuff enabled in mine since I need my car to pass smog.

I've successfully loaded A9L2 based tunes with BE, but modifying anything is not advised, correct?

I don't advise using the a9l2 with anything other than tunerpro and the correct gufx strategy, theres no reason not to

TunerPro won't talk to my TwEECer, will it?

no tunerpro will not interface with the tweecer

back in the mid 00s many folks used tunerpro to edit their tunes and caledit to load them and log with the tweecer you can do the same thing. If you have binary editor you can log with the gufb strategy and adjust your tune in tunerpro then just use binary editor to write it to the tweecer.

Prob best to just ditch the tweecer though and upgrade to a moates quarterhorse. The realtime tuning and datalogging with the quarterhorse using tunerpro is second to none.
