I imagine if one wanted a complete MW 8.8 built from scratch (no core) it would be around $2000 less brakes and shipping (they even make nice fancy crates). Talk to Travis - they have great customer service.
Do yourself a favor before you put it in, weld up the axle tubes to the center housing. No reason to put all that money and effort into it and leave something like that alone and have it ruin the housing.

They are fully welded all the way around as well as the shock mounting brackets - pretty nice looking welds too.
