A while back, i installed my clutch. (1200 miles ago).


While i installed it, i ran into a little problem. I over tightend the passanger side top bolt, that attaches the tranny to the bellhousing. This must have cracked the tread on the bellhousing since the bolt did not tighten up after this.


There is only 4 bolts, and right now i guess in my car, only 3 1/2 are fuctional.

How worried should i be?

Ill be running about 275rwhp(a-trim this week), and just want to know the stress these bolts take

Should be ok, I don't know if the transmission experiences any torquing but if you look at the wheels, they are only held on with 4 lug nuts with a much smaller radius and they can handle thousands of pounds of torque. So the tranny bolts are probably mainly for holding things together. Still, the bellhousing should be heli-coiled sometime...
