They are weaker, have a longer input shaft and requires a different pilot bearing(The RIGHT one is for an 84 Ranger Diesel)They will work, but have a short and brittle gearset...go to either D&D's or Hanlon's website, they have all the figures for all the T-5's used in Fords over the various years....power ratings, ratios, etc....
