Dave is right. I used an FMS brace P/N M20201A51, about $100 from Summit. It clears my Cobra fine.

the strut tower brace does nothing at all but add wieght. I dont miss mine and I love corners. Notice the ford didnt even bother putting them on after 95?

I picked up a FMS brace from the swap meet at Columbus this weekend for $25 (it was new, too).

Unfortunitely, it was for a 96-98GT. I knew this, but for $25, I thought (hoped) I could make it work.

It bolted up fine.

I couldn't disagree with you more.

I had to take mine off after the cobra intake install and never did put one back on. I just put that one on (see post above) and it made A HUGE difference! (and no, it wasn't just in my head)

Of course my car is a vert and they are more prone to chassis flex than a coupe, so that may have somehting to do with it...

I have one of those strut tower braces that fit all aftermarket intakes and I have a Cobra intake also. It fits no problem and the spacer shouldnt matter because the brace goes around the intake. Im not sure about the thottle body/intake hose area though.

The Kenny Brown unit will clear the Cobra with a 3/8 spacer. Do not know how much more. i am currently out of town. If anyone is interested, email Wednesday, and I will go out and measure the amount of additional clearance. BTW, I heard that Ford deleted this on the Cobra because the stock unit would not clear and they had nothing else.
