how long do stock T-5's usually hold up under normal driving conditions? I'm looking to purchase a fox body with 143,000 miles on the tranny...how much do most shops charge for a rebuild? any info is great
a stock t5 on a stock mustang that hasn't been drivin or raced hard it's whole life can last 150k no problem. However, with that kind of milage, and if it's definetly the original t5, expect to replace it within the near future. Never power shift them. They are cheap used, and easy to rebuild yourself though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
