Does anyone know the purpose for the "switch" that is located inline with the gear shift locking mechanism on the airbag equipped automatic mustangs (90-92 version)? I obtained a tilt column from an 88 mustang in hopes of swapping it into my 91, but the 88 column has no provision for the gearshift lockout mechanism. can I just leave the plug for the switch hanging, or is it a crucial piece of the column? I'd realy like to be able to use a tilt column! Thanks!!
