About halfway through second gear WOT, the car lays down. Volts and lights come on. Crap I think, over a month of successful use on this belt and it finally lets go.
NOT
The Steel Cobra tensioner broke. The arm is retained by a stamping of the aluminum pivot point and it sheared the metal off and came apart.
I presume this is due to excessive side loading from maybe bottoming the tensioner out. I can think of nothing else to cause this problem.
Anyone experience this>???

More info.
Another tensioner and a 114.5 belt. Works pretty good.
Then it breaks the tensioner again. This time the housing for the clock spring is cracked too. The belt looks like it started to shear off two rows.

I think the belt is rolling off the back side of the tensioner pulley, getting wedged between the cam cover and the pulley and forcing the arm forward breaking the thing.

Need a flanged pulley on there too it would seem.
The cam cover is all marked up with the evidence
