i remember a while ago that there was a kit to switch over from speed density to mass air. all you had to do was splice in a wire and get a mass air cpu. does anyone remember this? what exactly does it do? anyone done this? where do i get one? what wiring are you splicing?

If it is an 88 or 89 all you need to do is add a few wires. no jumpoing pins and no need to run the few additional wires like the 87-earlier models.

I used a Pro-M kit on a 88 I built for a customer and it worked and was very nice. Interactive Technologies sells a kit as well...

There is a great "how to" thread on stangnet that I used to convert my 88 to a 90 mass air setup. The computer connector is easily disassembled to get at the pins. You add 2 pins for the mass air and relocate 2 others. Replace the MAP with a BAP or simply pull off the vacuum line and plug the line. I already had the computer and mass air meter, so my cost was zero.
