Well, I'm in the process of wiring my 3g alternator and Thunderbird electric fan. Here is how I am wiring it:

Alternator- 3 gauge power wire without any fuse. The rest of the wires I know are correct.

Fan- 10 gauge wire for power source and 10 gauge wire from the fan to toggle switch. I have no relay but a 30 amp fuse. Should I put it in the power source line, or in the toggle switch line? Also, do I need to ground the fan?

Toggle switch- 10 gauge ground, fan, and power source.

The fan is completely manually controlled so I didn't think I needed a relay.

Thanks, Brad.

figured it out

hey zorb i figured it out.... the relay is mandatory because otherwise we would need a 75 amp switch which isnt gonna do it unless you want some huge thing in youre interior....get a 75 amp relay and wire it into the supply wire from your fan
