Unless you are taking your car to an open track and your current brakes are overheating, there is no point in upgrading. It is tempting though.

I like 17 inch wheels. Tires are cheaper to replace and you will be going through tires. Your best options then would be either 13" Cobra PBR's or brembos. Both will stop the same, but the brembos have more heat capacity for open track events. Get some aggressive pads like hawk HP Plus pads or Carbotech AX pads, and it will greatly help with reducing your braking distance.
