I'm still working this axle issue. Can anybody tell me if the ABS ring comes off or is it machined as part of the axle. I'd really like to get a pic of an axle out of the housing if anybody has one or a view from a manual.

The ABS rings are pressed on with an interference fit. Yes, they can be removed and reinstalled on another set of axles. It will take a large hydraulic press and some blocks to constrain the rings while pressing. I recently swapped in some Mosers and put the stock ABS rings on the new axles........no problem!! Sorry, no pics.

Hope this helps,
Wayne

Yes and no. You should NOT reuse ABS rings. They can slip. They are cheap (~$20 each???) and you can *order* them for Ford. They will take about a week to get. See my ABS page for the proper offset.
