I have a automatic that i've been working on lately and debating on whether to put a shift kit or a chip in my car. The guy at the performance shop told me that he can toon a chip and give me 10%-15% more hp. But i can be mistaking but i thought the chips were more made for the 4.6 engines and that the 5.0's doesn't really need it. What do you guys think. Any knowledge would be helpful. Thanks

the 95 has the AOD-E. The shift points are controlled electronically. A chip can adjust shift points. But 10-15% more HP. I wouldn't think so.
A shift kit is going to do the same thing. Shift kits for the AODE might even come w/ a chip.

If you haven't already, you would be better off spending the money on gears. 3.73s or 4.10s.

After that, look into a new valve body all together (vs a chip or a shift kit). Art Carr or Lentech.

There are various mechanical short-comings in the factory valve body that need to be corrected. A chip would leave those problems in there.
