I'm trying to figure out the best rpm to launch at with dr's. What rpm seems to work best to work best to launch at with a sc'ed on drag radials?

Granted, I've only been to the track once, I found that launching at ~ 3,000 rpm worked best for me. I was able to pull off a couple 1.9 60' times. Looks like your elevation is hurting you.

Have you had your car tuned? reason I ask is that I dynoed at 220hp/250tq on a mustang dyno, cut 2.1 and 13.4-13.6 consistantly....I've always felt my HP numbers were really low, guess I may be right.

on the dyno I made no more power above 3500rpm&4psi, even 5500rpm&10psi netted a flat 220hp......something screwy here with the dyno.

Are you saying you dyno'd at 220 hp with a blower? Don't you mean 320?

no it came out 220, but this is the thing, I know of someone on this board who dynoed on the same machine, put down 350hp and runs 10's, so what I am saying is there is something screwy with this dyno.

Thats outrageous, even for a Mustang dyno. I would go somewhere else. With your mods you should at least be in the low 300 range on a Mustang dyno.

well, I know it puts down more HP than I can claim, like I said it runs 13.4-13.6 consistantly w/2.1 60' at full weight, oh, and its an auto. No doubt 220 HP wouldn't get it down the track that well.

I wasn't sure how many lbs of boost I was going to lose through the intercooler so I never installed a smaller pulley plus I wanted to learn how to launch it before I go to a 3.33 pulley

What kind of DR's are you running and at what PSI?

I'm running BFG's - my last time out I went with 16 psi. Best 60' I could manage was 2.09 launching at around 3K. My driving sucks though - not much finesse - just dump it and punch it. :D

I was launching at ~2800rpm on 275/40/17 Nitto DR's at 16psi and feathering the clutch... best 60' was a 1.9, mostly consistent 2.0's. Density altitude calculated out to approximately 2500 feet, ugh! I'm going to try 14psi next time out.
