I have a 302 with an aftermarket catted h-pipe...everything is hooked up legal to the smog pump and egr etc etc...

now if i was to disconnect everything no smog pump, egr nothing but leave the catted h pipe would the check engine light come on...would i damage the catalytic converters..what would the overall effects be?

thanks

Yes if you took off the egr and all the smog stuff. The check engine light will throw some codes for them. As far a not having air pumped into the cats. It will decrease the life of the converters.

89SmokeCoupe is correct. When i deleted my EGR i bought the kit from Ron Morris which comes with a plug to keep the check engine light off.
