With the plug removed from the harness, does the timing revert back to the default 10*? My timing is off since I pulled the distributor and my car is undrivable. It is too dark to read the numbers to set the timing tonight and I cannot get the right amount of light to read them without drowning out the gun.

If it does revert back to default, will it hurt anything to drive it to work like that tomorrow and fix it during lunch or after work?

No with the spout connector unplugged the timing won't advance. It will still be at the setting the distributor is set at. If it's 2 degrees it'll be 2 degrees without any advance with the spout removed. It won't go to a "default" setting.
