Quick question on Speedo gears

Ordered a 21 tooth for AOD mustang. Swapping in 3.73's this weekend. Downs Ford sent me a white 23 tooth gear. Is there something I don't know or did they just send the wrong one. I checked all the sites with a search on this and everything pointed to the 21 tooth gear. Somebody educate me so I can send this one back and get the right one before Saturday if need be.

I am pretty sure that the 3:73 gear requires a white 23-tooth speedo-gear.

3:73's with an AOD requires a white 23 tooth gear.

right one. I put one in my car today. I do have a five speed, but it is the same thing we put in my buddies AOD.

It may be 1-3 mph off, but surely you can live with that?

Thanks, guys. I asked him on the phone about this and he agreed with the 21 tooth. But I got a white 23. I give Downs Ford props for getting me my stuff a Day early and pretty good service. It's weird though. Most of the places I looked said that an '89 AOD took the 21 tooth gears. Well, we'll see what happens.
