I have a simple question (I hope). I am installing cobra brakes on the rear. Of course this means axle shaft removal. The ford manual states, upon re-installation of the
differential pinion shaft lock pin. It must be tightened to specifications using "stud and bearing mount". Is this just a
loc-tite type compound? If so, What type? I have never messed with an rear axle. I am not intimidated by it though. I have never heard it called stud and bearing mount.

Yes, there is a Lock-tite product called "stud and bearing mount". As posted above, clean the threads in the hole and the pin with brake cleaner and use either the suggested product or the red locktite high strength.
