History:
Bought car with Quarterhorse installed 3 years ago. I really know nothing about tuning, but, I bought a laptop when I bought the car and downloaded TunerPro and the 4 tunes that were on the car, so I have the tunes on the laptop. This Quarterhorse has 4 tune dial selector.

I rarely drive the car and it has always run great, but a little over a month ago, my son borrowed my cars battery and I just installed a new battery this morning.
The car will only run when I am pushing the throttle, dies when I let off throttle and is running smoky rich.

My guess is the battery on the Quarterhorse died while the car battery was gone and took the tunes with it.

Questions:
1) Do I need to send the Quaterhorse in for a new battery or is it possible for me to buy and install myself?

2) Once I get a new battery in the Quarterhorse, As stated above, I know nothing about tuning and very little about the TunerPro software, I really do not want to take a chance of screwing up and losing the Tunes that I have on the laptop.
Can someone run me through a step by step process of uploading the 4 tunes from the laptop to the Quarterhorse?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Ordered my replacement QuarterHorse today and then spent several hours online trying to learn the most basic of the basics for TunerPro RT and also spent a lot of time playing with TunerPro RT on my computer.

It appears that there is an assumption that anyone using TunerPro & QuarterHorse will already have the basics down before buying, so, I really didn't find much on the basics, but, understandably I found a whole lot on tuning, which I most likely will not be doing.
My car came with the 4 tunes and I just turned the rotary switch to the tune I wanted and this fully met my needs.

Luckily I have the tunes and just for insurance, in case something happened to the QuarterHorse, when I bought the car, I also bought a Laptop, installed TunerPro RT and loaded the Bin files onto the Laptop.

After playing with the Laptop, I am confident in choosing my different Bin files and XDF file.

My big question now is on getting the 4 Bin files from the Laptop onto the Q/H when it arrives.
I think I might have this figured out, but if someone that is familiar with TunerPro RT could verify, I would really appreciate the help.

I am guessing at this because I never found it in writing, so here goes.
1) Turn Rotary switch to desired location
2) Select Bin file I want to upload.
3) Hit up arrow/upload current Bin to emulator
4) Click verify emulator RAM contents against current Bin
5) Repeat 1-4 until all desired Bins are on emulator.

Does 1-5 look right or am I missing something?

Thanks again

i don't have the rotary switch but that sounds correct, make sure your connected and it recognizes the quarterhorse in tunerpro, load your bin file and then hit the upload arrow.
Thank you,
Looks like new QH will be here Friday, so, I hope to be up and running this weekend.
Take care and hope you have a great week

you as well!
Got the new QH and installed it today.
Put selector to #1 and downloaded first program and it runs great.

Downloaded the next 3 programs into the next 3 positions and nothing happens on 2-3 or 4
Tried loading my 1st program into 2-3 & 4 & they still don't work.
Tried loading programs 2-3 & 4 into selector spot 1 and each program works in slot 1, so there is nothing wrong with the programs.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong when trying to get the programs into selector spots 2, 3 & 4?

Thanks

Got an email from Moates, Looks like all 4 rotary switch locations will not work with TunerPro RT.
TunerPro RT will only let me install Bin into 1st location.

Only way to get Bin into all 4 rotary switch locations is if I use Binary Editor.

I am up and running using the 1st location and it sounds like my Son is selling his 94 Cobra next month and is wanting to buy my 95 Cobra and will be installing his NIB Mega Squirt into the 95, so there is no sense in me spending over $100 for a Binary Editor Dongle, so, I am done with this project.

Thank you for your time
